Description
This is my entry for the Merrell Shoebox Design Contest.
I chose this memory because I think was the first time that I realized the Fall season and the colors of that scene. In Brazil the seasons are not too much different from each other, it is always quite warm and it always rains (depending on where you are, of course...Brazil is big), but that is why I never really had that realization before. I was 3 or 4 years old and my mom and I passed by a Japanese square in the middle of the city, that image was so strong and the colors so powerful that my mind transformed the background of a grey city into a rainbow to go with that magical place I was looking at, but when I came back into reality I noticed an old lady with a broom putting the leaves of a cherry tree together and I thought “Why does she even bother? So many more to fall...” but today I realize the answer “To keep the magic in the scene”.
About the diorama:
It was all hand made, even the old lady was made with paper, wire, glue and acrylic.

Total schön, dieser japanische Garten! Besonders die kleine "Insel" im See. Toll!
